A convenient and welcoming film location
Hanger Hill Garden Estate welcomes filming – indoors and out of doors – and has some unusual locations to offer in addition to individual houses.
The residents own and manage gated service roads running behind houses on the Estate, several pretty and woodland gardens, a Rose Garden and a wild area used as the gardeners’ enclosure. We are in a readily accessible part of west London, a stone’s throw from the Park Royal production hub, and our Estate is registered with the locations agency Location Works.

The areas we manage are all available for location use, and offer the significant advantage of off-street parking for production vehicles, catering, honeywagons etc. Where a project is likely to cause wide inconvenience, the Residents Association (HHGERA) will offer its good offices to mediate with residents.
We obviously expect compensation for the inconvenience caused by use of HHGERA land, at prevailing industry rates. As an example, we would charge for parking on our service roads at a similar daily rate to that charged by Ealing Council to suspend on-street parking bays. For larger projects we request a facilitation fee to compensate for the time spent by HHGERA on mediating with residents and resolving issues around noise, parking, access etc
HHGERA has worked successfully with a number of production companies over the years, most recently on a major feature film due for release in 2026.
Any funds raised by HHGERA via locations work is allocated to projects of benefit to the wider Estate.
Information for owner-occupiers who wish to offer their houses for location work
We recommend that individual householders register with Location Works if they are willing to offer their property for location work (though there is nothing to prevent owners using a different agent or dealing directly with production companies). For the time being, the introduction to Location Works is restricted to owner-occupiers and landlords of vacant houses (not flats).
HHGERA’s registration with this agency is likely to make co-ordination much easier if any project has impact beyond beyond the individual property’s boundaries. Each house will be listed by Location Works alongside other properties on the Estate and the areas managed by HHGERA itself.
The application form can be downloaded here, along with guidance on how to market and photograph your home to best advantage.
Email mail@hhgera.com if you would like to discuss this with a Residents Association officer.
Information for production companies wishing to use HHGERA-managed areas for location work
The Residents Association has an exclusive arrangement with Location Works – please click here for details including contacts to arrange an initial recce.
Standard contract arrangements will apply, including Public Liability Insurance. However, if you are interested in using our land, please bear in mind:
-
We expect production companies to inform all affected residents about planned filming activities, including dates, times, and the areas affected, to address potential concerns and minimise disruptions. Where access to Residents Association land is not needed, we regard it as a courtesy to email the same information to mail@hhgera.com.
-
HHGERA may request a facilitation fee where a large number of residents are likely to be inconvenienced by a project, in order to mediate with those affected and help resolve any difficulties.
-
Only accredited crew will be allowed access to our gated service roads or land and we would normally expect the production company to pay for security during the contract period. Service road gates must be kept locked at all times. Special arrangements may be needed on bin days (Thursday on most of the Estate) to ensure access for Council vehicles.
-
HHGERA does not have its own power supply so production companies will need to make appropriate arrangements with a householder or supply a generator.
-
HHGERA cannot be held responsible for the actions of individual residents.
-
Local authority (London Borough of Ealing) permits and information are available through the West London Film Office.
